Situated between the seaside villages of Arthurstown and Duncannon on the picturesque Hook Peninsula, this charming cottage dating back to 1830 and adjacent to the Dunbrody Hotel, was once a gate lodge of the Dunbrody Estate. It has been fully renovated and is beautifully furnished making it an idyllic romantic retreat. Duncannon has a vast Blue Flag beach, a fishing harbour and a magnificent, historic fort. This sunny area boasts golden, sandy beaches, historic abbeys and ancient castles at Ballyhack and Fethard. The Wexford Coastal Path is a great way to explore this coast and for beautiful sea views you could drive to Slade Harbour (10 miles) and walk to Europe’s oldest lighthouse at Hook Head. There are magnificent gardens at Kilmakee and the Kennedy Arboretum, and at New Ross you can visit the Dunbrody Famine Ship and the Kennedy Homestead. Waterford is only 9 miles via the ferry from nearby Ballyhack and has an award winning museum of treasures and the world famous crystal factory. Kilkenny Castle, one of Ireland’s top attractions, is 37 miles and Wexford, famous for its Opera Festival, is 25 miles. Boat trips, fishing, riding, golf and scuba diving are available locally, and there are pubs and restaurants within 2 miles. Shops 1 mile.
