The manor house of Quinta de Casal Maior, dating in parts from the 17th century, is set in extensive private grounds.

The surrounding area is beautiful walking country and the lively market town of Ponte de Lima has a river and 16th-century mansions. Coastal Viana do Castelo, has one of the best beaches in northern Portugal, a marina and a good choice of restaurants and shops. The Spanish border is only 40 minutes drive away.
