Property Description

This unique detached property is a wonderful choice for those wishing to explore the dramatic coastline of the North East. Offering panoramic views from the spacious lounge, its key feature is its circular window, from where visitors can look out for dolphins that are found in this locality. A former church, the house has been extended to provide spacious, airy accommodation which is perfect for larger gatherings and the arched windows in the kitchen and bedrooms add to its appeal. The enclosed patio makes the perfect place in the evenings, to relax over a meal and glass of wine.
The property sits in an elevated position in the coastal village of Gardenstown, known for its quaint harbour and traditional fishermen’s cottages which cluster around the base of the cliffs, giving the village shelter from the prevailing winds. Ideally placed for touring this unspoilt area, there are numerous sandy beaches to be found at Cullen, Nairn and Findhorn a little further up the coast. Golf is also widely available with several excellent courses a short drive away. A little west along the coast is the famous spa town of Macduff with a thriving and pleasant harbour as well as the Macduff Marine Aquarium, Britain’s deepest aqaurium tank, displaying sea creatures from the Moray Firth - popular with visitors young and old alike.
The town of Banff merges with Macduff and a lovely way to explore the town is to take an organised walk which takes in the grand Georgian upper town and down by the harbour, the older, scruffier Scotstown. Both The Whisky and Castles Trails are easily accessible, and the drive through them offers some of the best scenery in this wonderful region.
