Property Description
Pentowyn is situated in a tranquil and truly idyllic position on the Taf Estuary, with stunning views directly to the historic castle at Laugharne, Dylan Thomas’ Boat House, over to Caldy Island and up the river towards the Preseli mountains. A conversion of farm buildings (including the owner’s home), the holiday cottages’ origins date back to the 12th century as a priory farm, and are surrounded by beautiful countryside and coastline - abundant in wildlife, with plentiful walks direct from the doorstep. Llansteffan village is friendly and unspoilt and boasts a wonderful expanse of sandy beach. Llansteffan castle, built in the 12th century, is within easy reach and has splendid views of the Towy Estuary. The bustling market town of Carmarthen offers the usual range of facilities and the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, Dinfwr Castle (NT) and the Castles at Kidwelly and Carreg Cennen are a short drive to the east.
