Property Description

Nestling amidst the heather clad moorland of the Exmoor National Park coast, Kipscombe Farmhouse, a spacious, self-contained main wing of the 17th-century farmhouse, enjoys a dramatic coastal setting. Restored to a high standard, with its own secluded south-facing garden, the property offers well-equipped and comfortable holiday accommodation ideal for large family groups. Guests are free to roam amongst the 980 acres of National Trust farmland, where the children will be delighted to meet the sheep, cows and horses. Coastal footpaths lead straight from the farm through some of the most scenic and panoramic views in the area – on a clear day Wales is visible across the Bristol Channel. With the Exmoor National Park on the doorstep, offering a wealth of countryside delights, where Exmoor ponies, red deer and rare birds play, and footpaths and moorland streams meander through wild moorland, this is an ideal location for keen walkers and nature lovers alike. The famous twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth (2½ miles), with their connecting cliff railway, pretty harbour, quaint thatched inns, pebble beaches, tennis courts and putting green are within easy driving or hiking distance. Valley of the Rocks is a popular spot for a picnic, where wild goats scale the magnificent cliffs. Weekly markets are held at Barnstaple, whilst Ilfracombe offers family attractions, a theatre, sandy beaches and boat trips to Lundy Island. The magnificent golden coastal beaches of Saunton, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Croyde, are within easy driving distance, as are many local NT properties. Fishing, horse riding, tennis, golf and surfing locally. Inn with restaurant 1 mile.
