Only 200 yards from the sea and a minute’s walk from the heart of Boscastle, with its spectacular harbour surrounded by picturesque NT buildings, this cottage offers cosy holiday accommodation in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has shops, pubs, restaurants, visitors’ centre and Witchcraft Museum. Within 4 miles lie historic Tintagel and a beach at Bossiney Haven. Bude (20 minutes by car) offers many seaside attractions. Bird-watching, seal-spotting, coarse and sea fishing, and riding can be enjoyed nearby. North Cornwall Coastal Path, 5 minutes’ walk.
In a quiet lane, Mariners is one of a charming little row of listed coastguard cottages (second from right in photograph) accessed by eight slate steps down from the roadside. Entrance through small lobby into comfortable living room with wood-burning stove in stone fireplace and rug on slate flagged floor. Modern fitted kitchen with dining area. Stable door to terrace, steps up to paved patio area with garden furniture. First floor: Double bedroom with four poster bed. Pretty single bedroom. Bathroom/W.C. with over-bath shower.
