Property Description

This delightful holiday cottage (same ownership as GSE and T13) is set in seclusion high up in the Camel Valley and has stunning panoramic countryside views from the beautiful gardens. The holiday cottage dates back over 200 years and boasts a Cornish stone fireplace with an original clome oven and a wood-burning stove. The cottage stands in 50 acres of shared landscaped gardens and woodland leading to the Camel river. Guests also have use of a shared indoor heated swimming-pool and sauna. There is walking from the doorstep and the Camel Trail is approximately 300 yards. This is a disused railway line that runs from Bodmin through to Padstow, taking in the Camel Estuary where there is an abundance of wildlife, and which is ideal for cycling or walking.
A 20-minute drive leads to the wonderful north Cornish coast with the South West Coast Path and its breathtaking views across the Atlantic. Also here some of Cornwall’s most beautiful sandy beaches can be found, ideal for family days out and surfing. Wadebridge is a short drive away and offers shops and fine restaurants. Also close by is the pretty harbour town of Padstow with its array of shops, pubs and restaurants including the famous Rick Stein’s seafood restaurant and cookery school, Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur, and Port Isaac, where the TV series Doc Martin is filmed.
Nestled in the countryside, this lovely holiday cottage feels miles away from the pressures of life, yet is just a short drive away from a variety of tourist attractions that this area has to offer including Llanhydrock House (NT) with its extensive grounds and its magnificent Victorian country house, The Eden Project and Bodmin Moor, unspoilt moorland at its best offering magnificent scenery and walking. After a long day of sightseeing and surfing guests can come back to the tranquillity of the garden and enjoy al fresco dining or a glass of wine. Pub 2 miles.

Spacious living/dining-room with wood-burning stoves in Cornish stone fireplace and clome oven. Well-equipped farmhouse-style kitchen. Double bedroom with 6ft bed and en-suite bathroom/W.C. Open-tread stairs from living room to first floor: Two double bedrooms, one with canopied king size four-poster bed. Bunk-bedded room. Bathroom with corner-bath and over-bath shower. Separate W.C.
