This impressive and very spacious family house was built in 1868 for a local merchant and stands just half a mile from the fishing village of Mousehole, with its collection of excellent restaurants and pubs. Standing proud in an elevated position, on the edge of the small village of Paul, it provides panoramic views from its first floor across the surrounding farmland and out to sea. The large mature garden and orchard offers plenty of secluded spots in which to sit and relax. With added addition of its own indoor heated swimming-pool, this is an ideal choice for family holidays, within easy reach of the many sandy coves and rocky headlands of Cornwall’s stunning coastline.
A short drive down the coast reveals the lush Lamorna Valley, offering a lovely setting in which to enjoy leisurely strolls and picnics amid streams, waterfalls and secluded little coves. For livelier pursuits, the town of Penzance beckons, with its wide selection of shops and restaurants, aquarium, cinema and both indoor and outdoor swimming-pools, as well as fishing, diving and boat trips. A trip to the famous Minack Open-Air Theatre and the rocky outcrop of St Michael’s Mount are a must for any touring itinerary, as is a visit to St Ives – harbouring a myriad of narrow cobbled alleys lined with unusual shops, it has long been the haunt of artists, and is home to the superb Tate Gallery.
