Property Description
In a large, mature 2-acre garden with ponds, surrounded by peaceful countryside, and only 3 miles from the National Trust beach at Sandymouth, this lovely old former rectory and its converted barn and stable have been attractively refurbished for comfort while retaining their characteristic charm. Set together with the owners’ home, they enjoy delightful views towards Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, and are tranquil holiday retreats ideal for families.
In the beautiful Coombe Valley nearby, an interesting nature trail runs along an otter stream and leads to Duckpool beach (3 miles) sheltering below 300-ft Steeple Point. Walkers can also enjoy stunning views from the coastal path along the rugged cliffs or, at low tide, walk for miles along the sands. There are good surfing beaches at Widemouth Bay and Bude (6 miles), which also has a Splash pool and leisure centre, shops and restaurants. Several adventure theme parks are nearby, and the Tamar Lakes (3 miles) offer fishing and sailing.
