For days out there is plenty to choose from, including the château and ornamental gardens at St. Cyr, the prehistory museum at St. Hilaire-la-Forêt, and the resort of Les Sables d’Olonne offering boat trips to the beautiful Ile d’Yeu. Further afield are the famous waterways of Green Venice and the history theme park of Le Puy du Fou. The local wine-growing region of Mareuil-sur-Lay offers tempting possibilities for wine tasting.
