Chez Audy, a charming cottage, is situated on the owner’s estate, surrounded by pretty country houses in an area of tranquillity and also shares, with the owner, a very large heated swimming pool and a private tennis court as well as a shared shelter with fitness equipment. This simple cottage is the perfect base to explore the Dordogne. Nearby is a beach on the lake with pedaloes and less than half an hour’s drive away are the caves of Lascaux, Les Eyzies and the pretty old town of Sarlat. At Périgueux there is a daily market offering black truffles, ducks and local wines, many busy cafés and restaurants, as well as an impressive abbaye and a museum. A visit to the magnificent château of Hautefort and the formal gardens surrounding it is not to be missed.
