La Bergerie

Set peacefully in the heart of the Périgord Vert, near Hautefort, these 160-year-old farm buildings have been carefully renovated to retain their simple, traditional country character, while providing a comfortable holiday base. Le Bosquet is a pretty, detached cottage, and La Bergerie is an independent part of the English owner’s home. Each has its own garden and outside sitting and dining area offering privacy, as well as lovely country views. There is a shared grassed garden with swimming pool, which catches the sun throughout the day, and enjoys uninterrupted views of the valley and wooded hills beyond, while the owner’s friendly pets will make guests feel at home. The Périgord Noir is a lovely unspoiled region of small farming communities, medieval towns, ancient châteaux and golden sandstone cottages. Close to Hautefort the beautiful wood-fringed lake of Coucou offers fishing, swimming, pedaloes and pony rides, as well as a lakeside restaurant. Locally there are tennis courts, a large recreational lake near Brive, hypermarkets, and farms.
