The games room complete with bar billiards and darts and the additional benefit of satellite TV ensure there is always plenty to do whatever the weather. In addition, there is the opportunity to receive farmhouse-cooked meals delivered to the door.
Some excellent walking can be found close at hand, while the sandy beaches of Hunstanton, Brancaster and Holkham lie within a 20-mile radius for a family day by the sea. King’s Lynn which was once the country’s fourth largest town in medieval times itself offers a handsome waterfront and medieval winding alleyways, where visitors can browse amongst a good selection of shops and dine in traditional inns.
Historical houses abound in the region, with ruins to be found at nearby Castle Rising and Castle Acre. The Queen’s country residence of Sandringham is open to the public (unless a member of the Royal family is in residence) and is just 11 miles away. The market towns of Fakenham and East Dereham are close by and well worth a visit. Excellent trout and coarse fishing nearby. Good bird-watching, golf, sailing, horse riding and antique hunting locally.
