Property Description

Set in four acres of wonderful grounds, this elegant detached Georgian house is ideal for a relaxing holiday in peaceful surroundings. With beautifully proportioned accommodation, visitors can enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the oak panelled bar before dining in the high ceilinged dining-room with its ornate fireplace. There is also a large fireplace in the comfortably furnished living room. Within the grounds lies an indoor heated swimming-pool open from May to September, with changing and shower room for the ultimate in relaxation. The Reddings is located ½ mile from the village of Tillingham, between the Rivers Blackwater and Crouch, in a beautiful, but still relatively unknown part of Essex. Easily accessible from London 1h 15mins by train, the property is also a perfect location for a short break. The surrounding countryside is ideal for scenic walks, cycling and bird-watching, and a trip to Burnham-on-Crouch (5 miles) can also be enjoyed - it is home of England’s oldest marina, with its 1930s yacht club and cinema. Whilst in Burnham, visitors can browse around local shops and galleries and visit the Mangapps Railway Museum or take a trip by boat on the Lady Essex to Wallasea Island to observe the seals (seasonal). A short 9-mile trip in the opposite direction leads to Maldon, famous for its barge sailing and Edwardian promenade park. From here a trip to Northey Island (NT) - said to be a Viking army base - is well worth the visit. There are also many other delightful villages and small towns all waiting to be explored locally. Hunting can be arranged and lake or sea fishing. Pub ½ mile.
